Introduction
My name is Shari Amonett, and I am in the Education Specialist Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. I began the program in Fall 2014 and will graduate Spring 2016. I graduated from Berry College in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in education and then received my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Berry in 2010. Immediately after graduation, I began teaching elementary school. After six years of teaching at the elementary school level, I moved to the middle school.
I currently teach life science to 7th grade students at Dalton Middle School in Dalton Public Schools. KSU's reputation in instructional technology led me to the Specialist's Degree program in the Department of Instructional Technology. My ultimate goal is to better use technology in the everyday learning of my students both inside the school walls and outside of them.
The purpose of this portfolio is for me to demonstrate mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and the ISTE NETS-C standards. As you can see, there are a series of links below the KSU logo that you can visit. Of particular importance is the "standards" link. Under this link, you will see a series of artifacts and reflections documenting the important work I have completed during this program. Each artifact represents mastery of the standard under which it is represented.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Kennesaw State University, and feel that I am well-prepared to integrate technology into my classroom and to assist other educators in using technology and providing professional learning opportunities for them.
